A contested plan for a 200-plus home development by Huffines Communities in Plano got the go-ahead this week from the city’s Planning and Zoning Commission.

After receiving the advisory commission’s blessing, the project heads to the City Council for final approval or rejection.Donna Falletta However, even though the units are attached to each other, much like townhomes, the housing is technically classified as single-family because each home will lie on its own lot, city planners said.

Promenade at Premier will be a similar high-quality development, but on a smaller scale, Huffines said.
