The supermarket giant has inked a $300 million deal that will see its long-time fuel partner Viva Energy take over the Coles Express-branded fuel and convenience stores.

The bosses of Coles and Viva Energy have assured consumers that discount fuel dockets aren’t going anywhere after the supermarket giant announced plans to sell its fuel and convenience business.

“The partnership will continue, the shopper docket program will continue and from a consumer perspective, nothing will change,” Viva Energy boss Scott Wyatt said after the announcement. “This overall was a very good deal for Coles. It also led to an increase in sales for the supermarkets,” he said. “[The sale] has ended up being a win-win.”
