The launch of the new video, which tells a future-focused story of how First Nations Australians gained a Voice to Parliament, comes after Indigenous Affairs Minister Linda Burney said the Voice won't be involved in every piece of legislation.

In a new ad asking Australians to say "yes" to an Indigenous Voice to Parliament, Pitjantjatjara and Nyungar man Trevor Jamieson tells a forward-focused story about how First Nations people achieved their voice with the help of Australians everywhere.Uluru Statement from the Heart leaders hope a new video will tug at the heartstrings of Australians and encourage them to vote "yes" to an Indigenous Voice to Parliament.

"Everybody made a song and dance about it … And that's how we changed this country for the better. How we made history."Bridget Cama, a Wiradjuri and Fijian woman and co-chair of the Uluru Youth Dialogue, said it's hoped the campaign will raise awareness, educate and encourage conversations."We also really want to remind Australians that they're going to play a really, really important role in this moment in our shared history.

Alyawarre woman and Uluru Dialogue Co-Chair Pat Anderson AO, who features in the ad, has urged the Australian public to listen to the call to action and talk about Voice with family, friends and work colleagues.Alyawarre woman and Uluru Dialogue Co-Chair Pat Anderson AO, who features in the ad, urged the Australian public to talk about Voice with family, friends and work colleagues.

The Wiradjuri woman said the Voice would address two key issues: not recognising Australia's First Nations people are the longest continuous culture on the planet and improving the lives of Indigenous people. Indigenous Australians Minister Linda Burney says that enshrining a Voice to Parliament in the constitution would have a tangible impact on the lives of First Nations people."So why pick on things like taxation or defence and some of the other nonsense that's been sprouted in the last few weeks.""What I'm really encouraged about is that Peter Dutton continues to say that he's got an open mind," she said.

SBS CameronGooley If the Voice is not used to, among other things, to curb the on-going marginalisation and destruction of Country and Culture caused by endless, immigration-fed population growth, then I will cease take seriously our FN's people.

CameronGooley VoteNo to the divisive and racist voice to parliament.

CameronGooley Will Indigenous peoples ever be empowered enough to not require a voice to parliament? Enshrining a voice sounds as if this empowerment is not expected to occur?

CameronGooley I vote NO, just trying to save you some time and money.

CameronGooley They expect us to agree with a change which they have not agreed on?

CameronGooley VoteNo til there is detail

CameronGooley “Give them the right amount of detail” nice wording!

CameronGooley

CameronGooley Did said leaders actually have any dialogue and debate with their respective mobs? Isn't that how representative democracy is supposed to work?

CameronGooley Spoiler alert: All Australians are equal, but some Australians will be more equal than others🤷‍♂️

CameronGooley Racists.

CameronGooley Yay! Let’s have an anti-democratic body that can oppose decisions that our elected parliament makes! What could go wrong!! 🤷🏻‍♂️ auspol

A fact is a fact.

They want a racially determined position in parliament only available to indigenous people to lobby for their best interest in government. This would elevate their rights above any other ethnicity. This is racial segregation and apartheid.

Vote No 👍

This is going to bring out the tiny minority of triggered racist incel dudes.

Vote yes if you want to give a bunch of 'white' people interest free loans and free education.

VoteNo

Stop advocating that Australians are divided by race. It's disgraceful

Burney speak with fork tongue.

There will be two main indicatives for what I see. 1. Interest free housing loans. 2. Free Uni education. Tell me how that isn't racist. VoteNo

Will VoteNo even if Sophia Loren walks naked down George Street to support it

Nope

Tax payer funded propaganda.

Does the video include footage of invasion day protests and the burning of Australian flags? VoteNo to the racist voice to parliament. auspol

They already have a voice, the same one as all Australians. Access to government based on race will create an Australia that is truly systemically racist. So no, it won't be true...nor should it be.

SBS If our First Nation's people do not use that voice to end the invasion that continues -- immigration-fed population growth. -- they will fail to protect Country and Culture. That would be a pity.

Bullshit propaganda.

No.

Here is the current recipe for the success of the Voice, as shown by the manipulation of the ad thread by ulurustatement: Censor and suppress the Voice of the Australian public.

We now await the arrival of the no-ers and their uneducated racist drivel.

Racial based divide in constitution. This will separate Australian indigenous who stem from Eurasian ancestry.

MahsaAmini

What bullshit VoteNo

We don't want our constitution to grant rights and privileges to people based on race. There is not any piece of legislation dealing with Aboriginals that doesn’t have Aboriginals sitting there today.

VoteNo

Of course it won't be. The idea was just for legislation directly impacting FN peoples and its advisory in nature. We don't need a return to atsic with decision making capacity lacking oversight but it's not a tier of gov. The way it got framed was a clever ruse by the naysayers
