Pennsylvania General Energy is accused of not taking required steps to control sediment at pipeline construction site in Lycoming County.

WILLIAMSPORT – The state Department of Environmental Protection has notified a natural gas company of multiple Clean Stream Law violations at a pipeline construction site in Loyalsock Creek in Lycoming County.The notices are a followup to inspection reports in which DEP statedat the construction site about eight miles north of Montoursville.

Violations cited include failure to meet erosion and sediment control requirements and to plan earth disturbance activities to minimize their impact. Not included in the violation notices were sediment issues on Sept. 9 and 10 when DEP says a tear occurred in the outer wall of an aqua dam and an inner wall failed in the same area.
