Stok CEO Jacob Arlein's clients are demanding more sustainable buildings. The company he joined as an intern has worked with Salesforce, Meta and Google and is helping clients meet net zero targets in California and beyond.,

owes his career to his brother’s big toe. His brother had been on a skiing trip with two people who had just founded a sustainability consultancy, just the kind of place Jacob, then a college senior, was looking to work.

Stok offers its clients a wealth of services across the spectrum of energy and performance engineering. Their mission is to make their clients buildings more sustainable. Since Arlein replaced Macko at the helm in 2016 the company has continued to grow and has a library of corporate, residential, retail and life science projects.

You joined as an intern and now you’re CEO, what has that been like? My journey and stok’s journeys have been inextricably linked. That has been amazing because I've been able to see all sides of the business, both in terms of all the things that we do, which when I started was very little and now is a lot.
