Four fire engines were called to the fire at a commercial premises in Market Walk in Chorley yesterday morning

An investigation is underway after four fire crews tackled a blaze at a commercial property in Chorley yesterday .

Fire crews from Bamber Bridge, Chorley, Preston and Horwich were called at around at 10.50am to a fire believed to have started in the premises of Rymans stationery shop in Market Walk, Chorley, yesterday morning. Passers-by and onlookers watched them tackling the incident as flames were spotted leaping from the top of the building.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said its four fire crews utilised a hose reel and two breathing apparatus and were at the scene for two hours. They said no injuries were reported and that an investigation had been launched. A spokesperson said: “Four fire engines from Bamber Bridge, Chorley, Preston and Horwich were called to a fire involving a commercial property on Market Walk, Chorley. Firefighters used one hose reel and two breathing apparatus to bring the fire under control and were in attendance for two hours. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.”
