Editorial: Jacksonville must believe in itself to live up to potential

They see a need for Jacksonville to understand its potential and embrace it if it is to live up to it.Jacksonville has an underdog mentality, one of the honorees said, pointing out that can be a good thing — it can spur people to work harder and make successes feel even more excitign — but it can also hold us back, making residents complacent or think that we don’t deserve to grow.

Investing in downtown. Building amenities that would attract visitors and entertain residents. Investing in its people. Improving mental health services and expanding its infrastructure. Addressing poverty. Addressing racism.
