Corporate Carbon Group aims to complement Ban Ban Springs' cattle production with a savanna fire management carbon project.

Key points:Cattle operations will continue with savanna fire management projectCorporate Carbon Group purchased Ban Ban Springs, a 187,200-hectare property, about 140 kilometres south-east of Darwin.

Savanna fire management involves lighting a patchwork of fires early in the cooler dry-season months, with the aim of preventing large, destructive fires later in the year. Savanna fire burning is conducted across large areas of the Top End to reduce intense fires late in the year. The company also trades in carbon credits, delivering almost 7 million ACCUs to the Energy Reduction Fund since 2010.
