Police are advising people to avoid the area Lincolnshire

Language barriers, “unscrupulous” landlords and higher than average demand for rental property are causing a significant issues in Boston’s lettings community a new report has said.

This would enable the council to demand detailed documentation and carry out checks on properties while requiring the landlord to pay for the licensing fees. It notes that there are “many properties’ that provide good quality accommodation but said the evidence highlighted issues including waste management, fly-tipping, noise and anti-social behaviour.

As part of its investigation, a council Task and Finish Group carried out a series of interviews with those affected, including the migrant communities. Some landlords were accused of abusing tenants, including pressure over money and heating and water being turned off after residents left for work.
