The merger of Randwick Girls’ and Boys’ High into a co-educational campus will be discussed with parents early next year.A previous plan to allow girls to enrol in the boys’ school was vetoed in 2019.The merger of Randwick’s girls’ and boys’ high schools into a co-educational campus will be floated with parents when the NSW government launches a consultation about the future of public education in the eastern suburbs.

NSW Education Minister Sarah Mitchell said she wants to make sure the consultation captures the views of the entire eastern suburbs community. “We want to engage constructively with the local school communities to ensure that we identify and plan for the best option for public secondary education,” said Mitchell.The consultation will begin in term 1 2023 and a report is due to be finalised by mid next year.
