Hunters, fishers and equestrians take note — a sprawling Erath County ranch is on the market for $15.95 million.

, a 1,438-acre recreational ranch and horse breeding facility just north of Stephenville, is about an hour and 40 minutes from Dallas.

The ranch features rolling hills, an 8.5-acre lake and frontage along Rough Creek and the North Paluxy River. It has three houses and two horse barns. The Burgher-Ray Ranch Group of Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty, led by David Burgher and Harlan Ray, is listing the property.“It’s a legacy property,” he said, adding that the ranch combines “a beautiful equestrian property with all of the stalls and facilities to raise and run horses” and a “beautiful terrain with lots of wildlife.”

The three-bedroom main house was custom built with stone and has a standing-seam metal roof. It includes a two-story living area, double staircases and an open kitchen with a wine closet.The property also has two three-bedroom guesthouses with open kitchens and living areas, two-car garages and wells.The ranch has an outdoor arena and a main barn with 30 oversize stalls. The longtime owners,Burgher said the ranch could be a good fit for people wanting to get out of the city, given the location.

“It’s only a little over an hour and a half from Dallas,” he said. “That’s really the driver. Anything inside of a two-hour drive time is golden these days.”
