Among other issues, electricity costs in the Philippines have been cited by business groups as one of the main considerations of foreign investors when setting up operations in the southeast Asian country.

PCCI president George Barcelon said in previous months that lowering electricity costs would temper price increases in manufactured goods since it factors in the final price of manufactured costs.Meanwhile, FOBAP president and chair Robert Young said back in September that electric costs in the Philippines were significantly higher compared with other Asian countries including Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia.
