Home values skyrocketed across the First Coast over the past several years, driven by a shortage of new homes being built and an influx of new residents.
Nowhere was that increase more visible than in Jacksonville's top neighborhoods, where prices have been increasing steadily for years: In the past five years, the average price of a home in Jacksonville's top 25 most expensive neighborhoods jumped 59.42%, going from an average of $354,984 to an average of $565,913 — a jump of more than $200,000.
A big part of that increase came in the past year, when prices in those 25 neighborhoods jumped an average of more than $90,000, a 19% increase – with 11 neighborhoods growing at an even steeper rate.
