Here's when markets close for Christmas and New Year's Day.

Christmas Day falls on a Sunday this year. That means the U.S. stock market will be closed on Monday, Dec. 26.

Bond traders also have Monday off, but debt markets will close one hour earlier than usual on Friday, Dec. 23 at 2 p.m. Eastern before the long weekend. The benchmark 10-year Treasury yield TMUBMUSD10Y was near 3.684% heading into the last two weeks of 2022, up from 1.457% a year ago, according to Dow Jones Market Data.The S&P 500 index SPX was on pace for a roughly 19% decline in 2022, which would be its worst year since it tumbled almost 40% in 2008, according to Dow Jones Market Data.
