South African Council of Churches (SACC) says while legislation can help, it is not the answer to the fight against racism.

Christmas Day alleged racial attack at the Maselspoort resortTwo teenage boys were accosted by a group of white men at the resort’s swimming pool. A video of the incident is doing the rounds on social media.

The suspect will face a charge of attempted murder after he allegedly attempted to drown one of the teenagers in the swimming pool.“I think we have not socialised for it, pure and simple. We have not socialised for it at our schools, and these are kids, these are your people for example at the Universities who are racist today, where do they come from.

“Azapo was unable to open a case or lay charges of hate crimes and racism because the system of the SAPS does not make provision for charges of racism or hate crimes. This left Azapo with the impression that the South African criminal justice system has inadequate laws to combat crime,” spokesperson Gaontebale Godoba said in a statement on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, a panel beating workshop which reportedly belongs to one of the alleged Maselspoort attackers has been defaced with graffiti in Bloemfontein. Two other accused, following their brief court appearance on Wednesday. It starts with respect for yourself and others. The bible teaches to love thy neighbour as yourself but it rest on father's at house and church to teach their sons to love all especially girls and other cultures

What socialization mean? My daughter was attending a racially mixed school but what surprised me was during break you'll find black children seating in one group and coloureds in other group, she only had one colored friend and even that friendship didn't go beyond school yard

SACC is not for people but politics, if you for churches God's intervention is essential for uniting people. Unless racism is fought it will remain a problem.

For once somebody is talking sense, it requires more than legislation to change hearts and minds. However legislation that exists must be applied fairly to all and not used selectively

Africa will be free when it gets rid of these religious symbols of colonialism. These churches brought into the continent were the gateway to making Africans dumb & stupid. They are still doing a good job it seems.

The British who conquered nearly half the world was led by the church and their missionaries who travelled along with the British captain's on their crusades but never mentioned a word then, now suddenly the church has a voice.. WOW...

the SACC is a useless organisation, tsek

I am surprised SAHR is mum on this matter

Scrap off abasungu bonse and dump them off in the ocean

SACC is useless like its mother body the Anc.

Yebo I totally agree…mayB da word shud B sent out to all our bruthas an sistas, dat keep shouting abt whitey as well. MOST of dese moaners weren’t even alive durin bad years..so how can Dey make comment. Dey don’t wana work 2get money, so we claim their land back… Then jobs go

SACC must address the issue of churches taking last cents from the poor before trying to take part in racism issues in the countryside, they must stop playing better while we have burning issues about them

The time has come for wickedness to be confronted and taken down wherever it raises its ungly head. What I love the most about it is that it is indefensible. Ours as the righteous is to not associate ourselves with the wicked in particular with whites if you're black like me.

... and the current regime

If you stop talking about it and weaponising it... the media is the problem consistently pushing a narrative to align with woke Western ideology

Churches are useless for Africans, other propagandists

Was it not the same church that preached reconciliation & thrashed the legacy of those murdered by European settlers? Racism did not go anywhere. So long as the economy is dominated by settlers & land predominantly owned by them SAns will be continue to be subjugated

I hate tribulism more than racism

Racism is a global cancer

Racism will not end here in South Africa not at all

There is no legislation to fight racism what are these clowns talking about

Obviously as long as the anc structures are applying racist policy's, the obvious separation of standards and favoritism will dictate the level of racism in South Africa.

The ANC and EFF should be charged with racism. However, they don’t see their racist views or policies as racist. They are therefore racist law breakers. 😂😂😂

SACC is paid by the same racists, so they can't bite the hands that feeds them'
