The project, which would replace a trio of commercial buildings, hit the market in December.

1498 Polk LLC, which public records show is affiliated with several private individuals based in San Francisco,in the spring of 2021; it is slated to include 97 units, 11 of which will be designated affordable for households making between 50 and 100% of area median income. The apartment complex would sit on roughly a half-acre currently occupied by Fashion Exchange, Jeet Big Times Smoke Shop and Out of the Closet thrift store. The project’s architect is David Baker Architects.

The developer listed the project for sale earlier this month, according to CommercialSearch; real estate service firm NAI Northern California’s Alex Barker has the listing. Barker could not immediately be reached for comment Friday. The approved project at 1567 California St. also includes 10,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space across seven commercial condos,
