The company’s president and CEO, Heyward Donigan has departed Rite Aid, the company announced on Monday.

Donigan, a former insurance executive replaced CEO John Standley in 2019. She was previously a former executive with Premera Blue Cross and was CEO of Sapphire Digital. “On behalf of the entire Board, I want to thank Heyward for her contributions and service to Rite Aid, particularly her efforts in helping to lead Rite Aid throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. The company’s board has announced that it has appointed Elizabeth “Busy” Burr, a member of the company’s board, as interim CEO, effective immediately.
