The Founder of the National Council of Managing Directors of Licensed Customs Agents, Lucky Amiwero, has said that freight forwarders are transporters and should be in the ports.

Amiwero, in a telephone conversation with The PUNCH in Lagos on Wednesday, argued that Customs brokers are globally recognised and not freight forwarders.

Amiwero, however, explained that International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations regulates freight forwarders and not Customs brokers. The NCMDLCA boss added that a Custom broker can practise in any part of the world once he/she has gotten the necessary training, regardless of where he/she is from.
