Fort Worth-based VLK Architects specializes in institutional projects, such as education, corporate office and urban infill.

While shakiness in the economy at large has some firms hesitant about the new year, Fort Worth-based VLK Architects is projecting growth between 10-15% in 2023.

Some of VLK Architects' notable local projects include the new Denton High School, the Allen ISD STEAM Center, Huggins Honda and the 701 mixed-use district in Fort Worth’s Near Southside District. There has been a slowdown in the real estate market, with developers having an increasingly difficult time securing debt and equity. However, the slowdown on the private side isn’t even close to what was seen during the pandemic, Harris said, or the Great Recession.
