Experienced Union Square operators are expanding to the lively Polk St. corridor.

A San Francisco hospitality investor behind several Union Square hotels and a sprawling downtown Napa restaurant is launching a new food venture on the edge of Russian Hill.

Chris Lehman, one of three principals for Frame Ventures along with Richard Leider and Alan Guy, confirmed the existence of the upcoming project but was not available for further comment on Friday. In addition to the Bartlett Hotel's ground-floor gastropub Bartlett Hall, Frame Ventures owns and operates the Napa Yard — a 3.5-acre restaurant in downtown Napa's Oxbow district — as well as Napa craft distiller Concordia Spirits.
