Dr. Saad Omer currently serves as inaugural director of the Yale Institute for Global Health and associate dean for Global Heath Research with the Yale of School of Medicine.

Dr. Omer will hold the Lyda Hill Deanship and begin in his role effective June 1.

He has researched the epidemiology of respiratory viruses and conducted clinical trials of various maternal and infant vaccines worldwide. According to the release, Dr. Omer has published more than 430 peer-reviewed papers.
