“It will then be turned over to the city for demolition to make way for station construction and future development.”This advertisement has not loaded yet, but your article continues below. The 30-year-old market, with its nearly 170,000 square feet of retail space, is seen by many as a struggling retail and entertainment venue that never achieved its goal of becoming a focal point of activity in the city’s core.

Both the city and Harvard say the market’s more than 50 tenants were advised of the plans at an open house earlier this week.“While we view this as a time of optimism and revitalization, we also understand this infrastructure initiative will require closure and relocation of the 50-plus businesses who have called Eau Claire Market home,” said Harvard Developments CEO Rosanne Hill Blaisdell.

Interesting city sold it to Harvard for 13.5M(value was 45M) with option to buyback if development didn’t happen.was negotiating to buy back in 2019. Obviously never did & now are hiding cost to build green line at site which benefits harvard. Another yyccc failure.
