Mining companies must provide resources for communities in which they operate

He said mining companies could not just plant their equipment, use resources and be gone; they should immerse themselves in the lives of mining communities.

He said the implementation of social and labour plans must be accelerated, embraced, improved, and implemented to provide for the social needs of these mining communities. In July last year, Ramaphosa announced a plan to change the situation, namely, the national energy action plan that includes improving the performance of Eskom’s coal-fired power stations and quickly adding additional generation capacity on to the grid through renewables; allowing Eskom to secure emergency power from private companies; and buying power from neighbouring countries.

Production in the sector has been in contraction for ten consecutive months since February 2022, with November registering a decline of 9% year-on-year.

Rich from a poes involved in Marikana

How many years into democracy now?

That’s why CyrilRamaphosa is still only getting investment “pledges”. No FDI for the MYANC corrupt commies.

He must come to Mpumalanga

Are those communities too useless to look after their own needs ?

The tax mining companies pay, should provide for all communities. You are delegating your responsibilities and passing the buck! Sies.

Zimbabwe strategy. 😳

Heard that before

Another lip service episode 🙄

Marikina mine was doing fokol

Or roads nor infrastructure nor ports to get their products to market. Thanks to the ANC

You Demon Cyryl Ramaphosa who is a spineless failure and a thief and also a tsotsi from Chiawelo are one mine owner who raped your workers the community.

Makes you wonder whether the president knows how to govern. You don’t beg business for donations, you tax them. Then you make laws, you regulate and you enforce. You’re not a local league soccer club, you’re the government so act like it.

Is the ANCGovt in charge of SA or what?! Ramaphosa: You & the ANCGovt can't be paid to be in control of everything, INCLUDING SATaxpayersMoney, but simultaneously expect the PrivateSector or GiftOfTheGivers to run the country for you!!

H. Pistorius mine in zebediela. They denied to build just community hall in the area.

Mxim...how far is he with his 'smart cities' dreams.

Where did your billions come from....

…and they need to pay tax and royalties as well? What tax breaks will CyrilRamaphosa give to mining sector for taking over governments job?

Woza MA elections 😂😂😂 pitty some will fall for CyrilRamaphosa stunts

He says a lot of things. What you should be reporting is what he is actually doing.

Your buddies should stop stealing taxes

And in the areas where they have been paying large sums of royalties which are normally squandered to the benefit of the few...? Maybe a bit of education and financial oversight needed...? And what are the mines paying taxes for? That should provide services, education, etc.....

Well, that should take a huge weight off your shoulders where you're Already Not providing services. Also, provides a ready scapegoat when next the question comes from those communities as to what happened to the promises.

Mr President, I concur with you and this is what I stand for, coming from a mining community. MPRDA puts certain obligations on holders of mining rights to develop host communities. Mines are alive to these obligations and yet they don't comply. The problem is monitoring by gov.

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

The same goes for CyrilRamaphosa and his AfricanNationalCriminals

Hogwash

Unfortunately, minerals are long GONE. Only unrehabitated gaping holes remains around impoverished communities.

How can they without POWER, is there something wrong with your logic 🤔

Ooooh ok... Think this guy just need sum time

The government can no longer conduct operations until they provide for the needs of the people they serve 😉

Good. But I’ll believe it when it happens

After so many years..

Mining companies pay tax in order for you and your comrades to use that money to uplift those communities. What happens to the tax money again?

SithaleKgaogelo

We have been saying this since the dawn of democracy

God how useless is this goverment

In other words do my $&$ job because I'm too useless to do it. But pay your taxes or else.

Mnxim. Nasi🤞🏾 soze yenzeke le nto ayithethayo. He won't do it/enforce it. He doesn't have the capacity needed to force this.

Why is the government not taxing them enough so it can do all these things. These guys love begging whites.

Story!

24 hours before the end of his term, he will still say 'we will', 'we must',🚮

Mining companies do a lot of for surrounding communities. Some cases they compensate for lack of services from municipalities. It's the small miners, especially the ones who have friends at DMR who cheat communities.

andriesshai

Passing the buck because the MYANC is and has failed miserably in every aspect... this is a perfect example of 'we've stolen too much, now YOU must pay for our ineptocracy'.... FoetsekANC

Miners were shot and killed for demanding a R12500 a month salary and it was Cyril Ramaphosa who called for “concomitant action”.

And he only realises that NOW? Really? Really? Really? Almost 10 years post Marikana Massacre….

Marikana widows are waiting for him

Aren't the mines already paying the government, somehow, to do that for the people?

We tired of talks...where is the legislation...en a body enforcing that🤷🏿‍♂️

The ANC should start conducting operations in the country they rule in. Owes a joke. In the dictionary next to disappointment is a picture of Useless Phosa!

What haveGlencore and Shanduka done for communities? To date the JHB white owned and cadre owned companies migrate to take all capital projects. Whites resign frm mines & back 3months later as contractors... blacks must do portals & RED TAPE!

Do Lonmin and Marikana ring a bell to him?

Same old passing the ball to the mines. What about other industries? Why mines?

So, government has given up on it's responsibilities to the electorate, and is trying to make their problems and failures companies problems. We know how this ends. Companies leave, investment goes elsewhere.

His Excellency has given up

How about: I say SA Government can no longer collect tax without providing for the needs of the communities in which they tax

Marikana people are still waiting for you to address them Satan,

Only now?

Can't blame apartheid anymore, so on to the next victim

He says alot this guy. Where's the DO?!!

Is this not the government's job? Yes, have a social and labour plan and be a good corporate citizen, but is fully providing for the local community not going too far? Why pay taxes?

So creating jobs is not enough the mine must do the job of the goverment to? So what will the taxpayers' money be used for then?

This cyril is so useless. This government is so useless.

Why it took so long for Mining Charter to be implemented? Situations like that of Marikana could have been avoided.

But that has always how Anglo mines gave worked. Is he possibly referring to the Chinese and Russian owned mines in the northern Cape? Ones that the ANC has shares in?

It’s called cooperate sustainability!!

After him and his cronies destroyed it, he now expects the private sector must lay out more money to fix it.

Yeah....stuff up the mines now too.

Rama P pulling a 'Hey babe I'm ready to settle down' ..

Saying this in 2023 mara anc bafwethu

CyrilRamaphosa unless they pay bribe the MYANC reps, then all is well.

Bantu are no good

Mukomana wanga vhayakona uamba Mara ahuna nyito dzavhudi

Mining Companies don’t give a damn about those communities

Cyril is 🚮🚮🚮

Great plan Mr. President.

Gwede won't allow it. 🙄😂

What if you kill miners what happens?

Now that the minerals are exhausted

What a disgusting human being, tired of blaming Apartheid?

I really hate this clueless impostor, disguised as SAs president, ANC likes taking us for fools, who is this comedian?

Acknowledging the incompetence of his ANC government.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Yeah right🤣🤣🤣

Gosh, how will this entice investment?

Liar 🙄🙆‍♀️

‘Can no longer’ Only now?

Useless president.

WHO listen to his lies, empty promises, money launder corrupt thief president

Tell us something we don’t know🤷🏽‍♂️

.

Why is government not enforcing it because this requirement has always been there.

So many promises without action plans

Liar this one!

Now he is making mines to deliver the voters with services on his behalf ...Which mines coz most are now closed except illegal mines .Let him show us new opened mines

Like shooting the miners?

Am I just misguided here? Mines are entire economic ecosystems that benefit any community around them. However, communities demand they provide schools, roads etc. Why are other companies not required to do so? The local lawyer, shop, bookkeeper are. Why only mines?

So that CyrilRamaphosa's AfricanNationalCriminals MYANC can steal more taxpayers money

Electioneering platitude as usual, did his own marikana mine accomplices offered resources to Marikana communities? No, Inst8 he ordered the massacre of marikana miners even today their dependents weren't compensated,Ranko aka Mr Buffalo must/cn go to HELL
