PUTRAJAYA: The newly set up special advisory body to the Finance Minister has been tasked to propose actions that can further improve the country’s economic and financial standing, says Datuk Seri Anwar IbrahimThe Prime Minister said he had already spoken to the chief of the special advisory body Tan Sri Mohd Hassan Marican on the matter during a meeting on Tuesday .
“I have raised the matter with him on actions that can be taken. We will make the announcement later,” said Anwar after attending the Finance Ministry’s monthly gathering on Wednesday .On Tuesday, the Prime Minister announced the appointment of Hassan, who is former PETRONAS president and CEO as head of the special advisory body to the Finance Minister.
Four others were also appointed- FVSB Sdn Bhd executive chairman Datuk Ahmad Fuad Md Ali, Sunway University’s Professor of Economics Prof Dr Yeah Kim Leng, University Malaya’s Professor of Economics Distinguished Professor Datuk Dr Rajah Rasiah and Sarawak Energy Berhad chairman Datuk Amar Abdul Hamid Sepawi.Article type: free
