She is introducing an executive order to the Board of Supervisors on Tuesday to accomplish some of the goals. Others will need board or, in some cases, voter approval.

New legislation to create new financing opportunities for pipeline projects that have been unable to advance due to financing constraints, which will be advanced by the Office of Economic and Workforce Development and the City Controller's office by Feb. 14.

Thao, who was elected as Oakland's new mayor last year and inaugurated last month, said she shares Breed's vision on housing when it comes to increasing production in Oakland. "The ways in which we actually help take care of our unhoused population is to build, build, build," said Thao, adding that her administration is focused on building"affordable and deeply affordable housing."
