The City of Taguig recorded an incremental increase in collected business taxes from last year’s P3.61 billion to this year’s P4.38 billion following a system overhaul for permit and tax payment processing.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Taguig City government said it rolled out a new system for its Business One Stop Shop this year, allowing business owners to apply for permits and pay taxes quickly and hassle-free.Under the new system, the Business Permits and Licensing Office and Treasurer’s Office integrated the payment of barangay fees to minimize redundancy, as business owners no longer need to secure barangay clearances separately.

New protocols for handling applications of taxpayers were also implemented, resulting in fewer requirements and faster and more convenient processing of permits, the city government said.
