and always will be,” Facebook vowed on its landing page for nearly a decade. The world’s largest social network still is. But from this week its users and those of its sister app, Instagram, will have the option of paying $11.99 a month for a “verified” account, buying them better customer service, more widely distributed posts and a blue badge next to their name., a messaging app popular among 20-somethings, launched a $3.99 plan called Snapchat+.

Probably twitter and meta should provide a better support service at first?!

They could have offered a bit better client care for businesses relating to ad campaigns..

The reason all platforms are doing this is because people actually pay for it. It has it benefits for social figure etc to stop the fake scam accounts. But it’s just another thing people think they need to fit into the “ if you don’t have a social following you are nothing “ BS

Looks like all the cool kids are starting to charge admission. 🤑 Don't worry, we'll keep the FREE version of Zebracat! 🚀 TwitterHumor Meta Snap PaidTier

Where are those people who were going to leave Twitter because of this? Are they planning to leave Facebook and isnta also ?

Its a step in the right dir for all of the platforms, which I hope will ultimately (in the not too dist future) lead to complete cost recovery from users who elect to pay for that in exchange for no external use of their data. If we can move in this direction humans have a chance
