The Biden administration is demanding congressional Republicans pass legislation increasing fines for rail safety violations following the catastrophic crash in East Palestine, Ohio.

is calling on congressional Republicans to increase the fines levied on rail companies for safety violations, as a fiery Feb. 3 train derailment in Ohio has become a political lightning rod.

Under current law, the White House said, the highest fine that can be charged to companies for violations involving the transportation of hazardous materials is $225,455. That's less than 1% of Norfolk Southern's profits last year of $3.27 billion. BUTTIGIEG MOCKED FOR SAYING 'LOST MY TRAIN OF THOUGHT' WHILE VISITING OHIO: HE'S 'NOT GOOD WITH TRAINS'

What leadership Biden’s trolls are!! The people that make nothing know how to punish those that do!

So amusing maybe EPA could provide first more and faster help for people and cities facing pollution. But visibly Biden administration does not care so much about people and pollution. A little too much occupied by promoting diversity in administration

It wasn't the railways fault. Someone purposely derailed this train just like the others before. Trains don't derail themselves.

Welllllll, look who finally showed up. Are we actually paying this guy? Joy Behar would be a better Secretary of Transportation.

Like that'll help.

Rail company should strick for a mounth. They own the railroad so, inflation will skyrocket.

Those trains are way too heavy for the speed they travel these days..they need to redesign the track system for a more heavier wider track and base

This was a mechanical failure due to a 'Preventive Maintenance' program that obviously isn't working. But the price was right. A fine? Ha! Lawyers are already scheming a way to delay, obstruct, and blame for the sole reason to $cash$ in. It's the American way

Such a girl.

A visit that only happened because Trump went there first.

How about aiding the people affected by this incompetence. Stop giving money to Ukraine and start helping our own. 🤡

This administration nothing but a joke

You get what you vote for.

The Federal Government lines its pockets with fine money and tells people to fend for themselves. Typical.

Problem solved.

Instead of milkin the man, get to the problem. If it was Trumps changes as he left this guy had two years to the day to make changes in his office. No.. blame orange man, like every thing they say nothing gets done.

Typical Biden White House blunder whereas instead of a solution to the problem, they just invoke more fines and hurt rail workers and continue to drive the economy into the ditch
