The 2023 World Table Tennis Championship has been announced in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. The games will take place in May at the International Convention Center (ICC).

Durban is set to host yet another world-class sporting showpiece in the World Table Tennis Championship later this year. Organisers say staging it in Southern Africa is bound to increase interest in the sport.

President of the South African Table Tennis Board, Joe Carrim says South Africa stands to benefit as the host nation. President of the eThekwini Table Tennis Association, Vika Bhengu says they hope the games will ignite a love for the sport among the younger generation.
