FG made N2.83trn from company income tax in 2022 — up by 116% in one year | TheCable

Last year, President Muhammadu Buhari had said the country’s poor performance in resource mobilisation was a source of concern, as “tax revenues are approximately 8 percent of our output”.a presidential committee on the national economy, to provide solutions to the country’s economic troubles, especially in the area of getting revenue.

In Q3 of the same year, the CIT revenue further increased to N810.19 billion but had a 6.95 percent decrease in Q4 to N753.88 billion.According to the NBS, the 2022 figure shows that in one year, the federal government increased CIT from N1.69 trillion in 2021 to N2.83 trillion in 2022, which is a 116.75 percent increase.
