Former ASPI Executive Director Peter Jennings says the AUKUS submarine deal is going to “reinvent” the Australian defence industry.

“There’s going to be a massive skilling exercise, taking thousands of Australians to expanded submarine building yards in the United States,” Mr Jennings

told Sky News Australia.“Inevitably it’s going to bring the two defence forces very much closer together and therefore the two countries closer together.”
