Jeremy Hunt has said the collapse of of Silicon Valley Bank poses a 'serious risk' to the British science and technology industry

The Chancellor and the Prime Minister Rishi Sunak are holding talks with the Governor of the Bank of England this weekend in response to the collapse of the US bank, whose UK branch counted many British companies as depositors.

"But there is a serious risk to our technology and life sciences sectors, many of whom bank with this bank." "We have been engaging with the UK Government, including Treasury and No 10, about the potential impact and I know that work has been going on overnight on policy options."
