Google is opening up access to Bard, its new AI chatbot tool that directly competes with ChatGPT.

Starting Tuesday, users can join a waitlist to gain access to Bard, which promises to help users outline and write essay drafts, plan a friend’s baby shower, and get lunch ideas based on what’s in the fridge. A company representative told CNN it will be a separate, complementary experience to Google Search, and users can also visit Search to check its responses or sources. Google said in a blog post it plans to “thoughtfully” add the technology to search “in a deeper way” at a later time.

Like ChatGPT, which was released publicly in late November by AI research company OpenAI, Bard is built on a large language model. These models are trained on vast troves of data online in order to generate compelling responses to user prompts. The immense attention on ChatGPT reportedly prompted Google’s management to declare a “code red” situation for its search business.

the question that needs to be asked: can AI / chatgpt, bard scan copy written material and behind the paywall information and leak it for its own money making purpose? (yes)

Sad to see Ai ruined by corrupt institutions. Google is a huge factor in the dumbing down of society. This will make it worse.

A miss, I will give it...

CNN is suddenly running a ton of stories (at the direction of the board) praising AI. CNN, it's parent, Warner-Discovery, and Big Tech & Media will use AI to steal IP, alter archival news footage, change old film dialogue & scenes, and other corrupt acts. This is very bad. 1/2

you all need to stop using these AI bots. You all are giving these bots tons of free information and making them more smarter and efficient. You're not getting paid for this. These companies are getting rich off your free labor.

Great
