The new hospital is expected to open in late 2024.

“We have seen a tremendous growing need for post-ICU and inpatient rehabilitative care across the Central Florida region,” Tom Mullin, executive vice president of hospital operations at Select Medical, said in a news release.

Select Medical currently operates two critical illness recovery hospitals in Orlando as well as 11 additional critical illness recovery hospitals and three inpatient rehabilitation hospitals and units throughout the state of Florida. As of December 31, Select Medical had operations in 46 states and the District of Columbia including 103 critical illness recovery hospitals, 31 rehabilitation hospitals, 1,928 outpatient rehabilitation clinics and 540 Concentra occupational health centers.
