Jama Onwubuariri is the co-founder and Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Truck Transit Park Limited.

, he speaks on the challenges and prospects of the organisation, among other issuesThis business was conceived based on the vision to use technology to solve mobility problems across the African continent, adopting speed, efficiency, and professionalism.

What would you say have been the challenges and how do you intend to extend your services for wet cargoes? Some of these challenges include digital literacy and the adoption rate of technology by some of our customers, human interference, and extortion along the port corridors. With regards to extortion which has been a bane to the movement of trucks within Apapa and Tincan, and has continued to be, we have seen a drastic reduction. Trucks can now move into the ports without having to pay heavily.

Truckers have been complaining of extortion despite the coming on board of TTP, what is your position on that? There are claims that these extortions take place at checkpoints along the roads to the ports. But the fact however is that there has always been checkpoints. Before now, however, these checkpoints used to be places to pay and settle people heavily before trucks can be allowed to pass. We recognise however that there are some unruly elements at these checkpoints that are trying to exploit the truck drivers.
