Tupperware shares fell nearly 50 per cent Monday following a bleak warning that its future is looking murky.

late Friday, the container maker said there's "substantial doubt about the company's ability to continue as a going concern," and that it's working with financial advisers to find financing to stay afloat.

The New York Stock Exchange also warned that Tupperware's stock is in danger of being de-listed for not filing a required annual report. The 77-year-old business has been struggling in recent years to maintain its relevance against rivals. It has been trying to shed its staid image and attract younger customers with newer and trendier products. It also struck a deal with Target last year to sell its products.

Saunders said Tupperware is in a "precarious position" financially because it's struggling to grow sales, and because it's asset-light it doesn't have "much capacity to raise money."

I am still in a homeless shelter so I still cannot host a Tupperware party.

B-bye...

They made great, overpriced products. RIP

Did they lose the lids?

😁

In other “news” the sky is blue 🙄

Didn't even realize they still existed.

This is real news. Hate it when people out there think Covid is nothing more than a PsyOp run by the Evil Entity running the world, or that Ukraine is a fake war..Ew conspiracy theorists. This is real life changing news, reminds us to all be nice little worthless robot slaves🇺🇦💉

Who pays $45 for a container when you can buy 3 for $4 somewhere else. They have nice containers but the pricing is ridiculous

That's because nobody uses tupperware anymore.

gee, who could have ever foreseen that outcome ?

Sounds like a self fulfilling prophecy

I have so much tupperware over 40 yrs old...love it...but am surprised with all the knockoffs it's still in business

Keep giving money to fight a war that we have no business funding... Meanwhile back at the farm, businesses are going tits up

Better options to hide drug stashes than Tupperware.

That's what happens when your product becomes too expensive to survive. Tupperware should fall - Greed is a disease and their products are really just a name so many similar/better products at a more reasonable price range

Put a lid on it

Their fate is sealed.
