Wow so it’s slow and more expensive than flying?

The next step is for the government to ban air travel and internal combustion enginse so that this train becomes the only means of transportation.

Thanks but I rather fly on SouthwestAir for $59.00 that only takes 1hr🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

Sounds nice but won’t survive. Too expensive. Most people will just fly.

There’s no tracks over the grapevine how they gonna get there?

Wasn’t this the purpose of GavinNewsom’s $50 billion dollar bullet train? “Now leaving shithole to destination shithole!”

It would be faster and cheaper driving. One tank of gas and 6 hours with two pit stops.

Kind of the only way to run this because if not it will be ghetto-ized in 2 seconds especially in California.

it’s supposed to be accesible and they’re gonna charge 300$ for it, what a joke, cheaper to drive

what services are they offering on the train? luxury sleeper cars? massages with happy endings? I don't understand the selling point.

For the lowest fare $300 - I can make 3 round trips by Southwest and on average it takes 2-3 hours including the checkin time, flying time

They have a bus.thay does the same

Sorry but this is the dumbest thing ever.

Aren’t flights less than $100 and like 10 hours faster?

What a joke. That’s exactly what California needs. More services for the elitist class that are unnaffordable and impractical for a typical citizen.

Didn't we spend billions on a high-speed rail? When are we going to get more than 5 feet of that?

I like the concept, but high-speed rail will hopefully make this obsolete in a few years. There's already a bus that does the same for far less money, and in less time.

Twice as fast to drive!

😂

Sweet. Sign me up. When the finish the final segment to San Diego.

This is dumb lol 300-1000 …10 hours… a plane is less money and time tf hahah

Lol while you can fly for $50

Kinda should be a party train.

Boring!

Then we can nix the high sped train to nowhere?

A $1000 and 10.5 hours? So the target market are people who either don't have passports to travel internationally, or are scared of planes or don't have a drivers license? How does this make sense at all when you can drive in 5.5 hours or fly in 1 hour for $59 on southwest?

Flights are available between LA & SF for less than $50 with 45 min travel time...

People in America ain’t gonna be able to have that. You don’t have the engineering capabilities like the Chinese to build that.

Good!

So basically a safe and secure train for whites and asians, without black people? We need more of these 'first class' features in more areas.

Would you travel first class train between third world cities: LA and San Francisco?

This is great! It's convenient to get from London to Paris, it should be hard to get to San Francisco to Los Angeles via a train.

Why go to Europe when you can spend more time going from LA to SF 🤣

Is this the bullet train we’ve been hearing about?

Story says it 'will use the same route as the Coast Starlight,' -- which means to Emeryville, not SF.
