Too much pot? Some states in the U.S. West are struggling with marijuana oversupply in the absence of federal legalization.

Moberg, of CannaSol Farms, is down to seven employees — a drop from more than 30 in 2014 and 2015 as Washington’s pioneering industry launched amid tight supply and high prices.

“We hope we can sell most of it to keep the lights on,” Howard said. “It’s a miracle that we’re still in existence.” “You’re all staying in this game for one reason: that the federal government, whether it’s this term or next term, they are going to recognize marijuana on a 50-state basis,” he recalled telling them. “And southern Oregon is to marijuana what Bordeaux is to France.”

Authorities have also contended with illegal farms operating under the guise of legality — notably in Oregon, where many have been financed by foreign cartels. A post-pandemic economy ushered in layoffs in a sector that already was strained. Hefty taxes, inflation and regulatory costs weigh on bottom lines, and a glut pushed wholesale prices to fire-sale levels. As in Oregon, it’s no secret some California growers haveAn analysis by cannabis investor Aaron Edelheit determined California’s legal market lost nearly one-quarter of its total growing area after the start of 2022 — “a wipeout,” he called it.

artedaguerracnl capitalism is this, why dont u let people grow weed in houses? is not dificult! jesus used to make oil and then comes the miracle he suposes to do

I'm doing the best I can! 😆

Only greedy capitalists consider overproduction to be a bad thing.

I can help with that

CultCabinet_CC Extract the oil, bottle it up and sell.

Do ya'll need an address or....?

Maybe if all them ppl. who receive a reparations check (Which is really ignorant and totally stupid-stupid-stupid) can buy all that extra pot that Cali.'s got stored 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

In Canada they are having trouble staying in business, and also still facing competition from the black market

More importantly who cares

That's because the taxes are too fucking high.

Old story.

stop trying to sell everything for premium prices then, cock suckers

It is called a weed for a reason. Supply and demand. Look at cronosgroup Canada can’t ship their pot globally and the population is the size of California. Of course they grew too much.

They will have to incinerate the excess

It would be amusing if they had to burn it

Very close to a total collapse of our society which is what our enemies want

Everyone. Everyone knew.

Just grow industrial hemp instead

Hard to sell when the government is taking such a huge cut

Did that bag say 14%? No one is buying that ditch weed

I'm constantly appalled at how countless random dudes have sold illegal drugs ~ for centuries ~ at incredible profit, yet involve corporations and govt and the whole thing goes for shit. Truly fascinating

Welcome to capitalism.

The FDA needs to reclassify THC as a Schedule III drug so it can be produced by pharmaceutical companies and prescribed by physicians.

I don't know about elsewhere but in my state, my medical marijuana seller grows his own and sells it really fresh. Not only that but he's raking in cash hand over fist (I'm personal friends with the owner) and he has the cheapest prices for medicinal marijuana around.

Oversupply = under demand. In case you were worried that everyone would suddenly start using pot: you were wrong.

No, not enough freedom

Smoke 'em if you got 'em.

Make. It. Fucking. Legal. And don’t think we’ve forgotten about you JoshShapiroPA Why are you dragging your feet on this issue in PA? It’s ridiculous that TheDemocrats hide from this issue. Legalize it.

I know where to get rid of it.

'If you legalize it, you can tax it to boost economy'

Know what that meansssss?

The answer is federal legalization

Should be some really cheap weed out there then.

Bring it east, MI

Hmu.

time to start the national reserve.

They can send their extra stuff to me

No such thing, my friend. No such thing.

Oversupply? perfect!🤒🤒🤒

For perspective: In Michigan right now all adults can possess up to 2.5 ounces of cannabis on their person or in their car (10oz if locked in the trunk) up to 15 grams of extracts, grow 12 plants with no oversight or restrictions, and most former misdemeanors and felonies for…

Half of its moldy by now

I’d be happy to help 💨

Saw a recent study proving pot shrinks the brain

With a tax rate over 50% in Washington State, is there a reason to control supply?

Just more tax money for federal and state governments to pay out to people that work.

That's because there's too many illegal grows. They busted 200 in Oklahoma last year.

I'm smoking as fast as I can.

Is there a weed outlet store? TJ Marijuanax

We’ll take it ..!

Well tomorrow is 4/20!!!!

I’ll step up, slide in my dms

How can i help?

It's a shame we can't use the regular cannabis like hemp. There'd be a huge amount of new fabric, cement, and food/oil from seeds. There's just no honest politician.

Keep your green garbage out of our neighborhoods. also if you have too much just smelt them and turn them into fertilizer compost it's really not that difficult.

That's what happens when every individual thinks they should run a weed store

I they need a place to send it all, I can do my part to help.

Shouldn't that make prices come down?
