While the new IKEA locations are yet to be announced, the company plans to open stores in San Francisco and Arlington, Virginia, this summer, separate from Thursday’s announcement.

CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. – Global furniture retailer IKEA is investing $2.2 billion to add 17 U.S. locations over the next three years, the Swedish-based company announced Thursday.

IKEA currently operates 51 stores – including two in Ohio – and two “plan and order” points in the U.S.
