All the big planning projects heading Wyre's way in 2023 from refurbed market hall to Hickory's Smokehouse

The borough of Wyre is home to some of Lancashire's most stunning scenery with quaint villages tucked amongst huge swathes of countryside and bordered by the coast.

Some of the more recently-announced new developments include a new Deep South-themed restaurant along with the ongoing refurbishment of Fleetwood Market. Here we take a look at some of the biggest planning projects heading Wyre's way in 2023.During 2023 the council is investing £3.2m in rejuvenating Fleetwood's market hall.

A final decision is still outstanding on BXB Thornton's plans to build 130 new homes on land off Fleetwood Road North after determination of the application was deferred in December. In positive news, popular restaurant chain Hickory's Smokehouse has confirmed it will be bringing the taste of America's Deep South to Thornton-Cleveleys. The eatery will takeover the site currently occupied by the Iron Horse pub on Fleetwood Road North.
