The shooting happened around 10:30 p.m. in the 100 block of South Concho, not far from both Interstate 10 and San Antonio Public Safety Headquarters.

During a news conference Thursday, SAPD Deputy Chief Hector Salas, who is the department’s Fiesta Commander, said that the incident was isolated, and detectives are working hard to find the shooter. Salas said SAPD works with event coordinators, conduct walk-throughs of sites, undergo training and ensure that Fiesta events are properly staffed.“If you see something, say something. Report suspicious behavior to SAPD immediately,” Salas said.
Salas added that weapons are prohibited at NIOSA and Market Square, and someone found with one faces the possibility of being charged with a second-degree felony.
