Tokyo stocks open higher with eyes on Fed this week

TOKYO stocks opened higher today after Wall Street gains, with investors’ focus shifting to the US Federal Reserve’s policy decision later this week. The benchmark Nikkei 225 index was up 0.82%, or 236.58 points, at 29,093.02 in early trade, while the broader Topix index added 0.74%, or 15.3 points, to 2,072.78.
