Area residents will be able to enjoy entertainment, food, shopping, and getting to know local business owners at the first “HCBTT Community Networking Event” this weekend near Broad Street Market.
“This will be a great opportunity to bring the community together,” said Macajah Brown, founder of the HCBTT. The organization, which started in 2019, focuses on developing public policies on concerns such as education, healthcare, mental health, criminal justice, housing, employment, and other issues.The all-day event will feature food trucks, over 25 businesses, music, and performances. Attendees will also hear from speakers discussing topics ranging from education, health, and advertising.
Special guest speakers include Dr. Oralia Dominic, header disparities leader for Highmark Blue Shield; Natasha Harris, CEO of Broken Wings Literacy Center; Jenni Jenkins-Dallas, publisher of La Voz Latina Central community newspaper; and Aisha Mobley, Christian Churches United community outreach coordinator.
