Australia’s tourism industry has reached around 80 per cent of pre-pandemic levels and international visitation continues to rise, says NSW Tourism Industry Council Executive Director Paula Martin.

“We are seeing visitation from other countries like the UK, New Zealand, the US and we’re also seeing countries like India also surpass pre-pandemic visitation levels,” she told Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood.

“Part of that international visitation which we’re very happy about is that they’re coming for leisure purposes. “That’s good news for the tourism industry because it means now that we can go back to what we do best which is welcoming our visitors, internationally and domestically, with open arms.”
