With rising energy costs and rents, businesses in Lincoln are feeling the squeeze

The City of Lincoln Council has attributed the ongoing cost of living crisis to the recent spate of business closures.

A spokesperson pointed to skyrocketing energy costs as one of the primary reasons behind the struggles of many local businesses. "Many businesses which have struggled locally have tended to be larger chains with significant overheads. We still have many smaller businesses in the city that are continuing to thrive.

"If businesses are finding themselves under pressure due to increased costs, we would always advise that they speak to their energy supplier, bank or business groups they may be members of. Business Lincolnshire can also provide appropriate advice."
