Chicago Business Barometer on rise in June

The Chicago Business Barometer, also known as the Chicago PMI, rose by 1.1 index points to 41.5 in June.

The is a weaker reading than expected. Economists polled by the Wall Street Journal forecast a 43 reading.The index is produced by the ISM-Chicago with MNI. It is released to subscribers three minutes before its release to the public at 9:45 am Eastern. It is the last of the regional manufacturing indices before the national ISM data for January is released on Monday.

Regional Fed manufacturing surveys have been mixed this month, said Aichi Amemiya, senior economist at Nomura Securities. Stocks DJIA, +0.57% SPX, +1.02% opened higher on Friday. The yield on the 10-year Treasury note TMUBMUSD10Y, 3.832% slipped to 3.85%.
