Georgia-based electrical component firm plans huge Fort Worth hub.

“We’re pleased to welcome Southwire to Fort Worth,” Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker said in a statement. “Southwire joins more than 560 companies that have already enjoyed long-term growth inside the modern-day, Texas-sized success story that is AllianceTexas.”

The North Fort Worth building lease is one of the largest such industrial transactions in the Dallas-Fort Worth area this year.Southwire was started in 1950 and has more than 7,000 employees. The family-owned company produces wiring, cables and other electrical components. The company has existing facilities in Carrollton, near El Paso, in Indiana, California, Mississippi, Alabama, North Carolina, Illinois, Florida and Pennsylvania. It also has operations in Canada, Mexico, China and Honduras.
