I am very confused. If these men are for a socialized health system then why are they even including the topic of employee provided healthcare in relation to stock repurchases? Healthcare should not even be on the table. What are these men’s motive?

What’s the point of publicly owned companies buying their own stock? Isn’t the whole point of becoming a publicly owned company to raise capital in public markets through the issuance of stock? Stock buybacks are a scheme to distort (raise) stock prices and boost exec. bonuses.
