Telecom Italia's earnings rose in the second quarter as CEO Pietro Labriola continues to focus on profitability in its domestic market

’s earnings rose in the second quarter, suggesting the company’s strategy of increasing prices and focusing on profitable services in its domestic market is paying off.

Organic earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization increased 5.6% to €1.64 billion in the second quarter compared with the same period a year earlier,said in a statement on Wednesday. That compares with analysts’ average estimate of €1.6 billion, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.
