An iconic Melbourne hotel has been part of St Kilda's landscape since the 1800s has been put on the market after undergoing a multi-million dollar refurbishment.

It is marketed as a 'jack of all trades' in the hospitality landscape as a venue for dinners, drinks, gigs and weddings, and is steeped in history.

The hotel housed the US army officers club during WWII and the bar proudly operated as Melbourne's first LGBTQI+ friendly venue in the 1930s. The freehold investment is subject to an existing long lease with the Melbourne Pub Group owned by the Ryan Family, who also own and operate Michelton Estate and Hubert Estate in Victoria's Yarra Valley.CBRE's Scott Callow, who is managing the sale via an expression of interest campaign with Nathan Mufale, said he had been involved in the hotel's previous two sales and had never seen it in "such wonderful condition".
